A professional actor and acting teacher for nearly 30 years, Ben Lipitz has performed extensively in theatre, film and television.  Having attended the prestigious California Institute of the Arts (BFA Acting Program), Ben has carved out an impressive niche as a character actor of tremendous pathos and comedy.

For nine years Ben has starred as “Pumbaa” in Disney's "The Lion King" playing in both the Broadway Company and The North American Tour. In over 3,000 performances, he has entertained more than 8 Million audience members.

A member of The Actors’ Studio in New York, he has appeared at theatres such as Goodspeed Opera House, PaperMill Playhouse and most notably the Walnut Street Theatre where he has a nearly 30 year relationship having appeared in Laughter on the 23rd Floor, ART, and The Producers. In 2009, Ben was honored to join the Board of Trustees.

New York Theatre credits include: work at the Naked Angels, Ensemble Studio Theatre and New York Theatre Workshop.

Film credits include: The Giraffe and Find Me Guilty (directed by Sidney Lumet).

Television credits include: Homicide, Law & Order, 100 Centre St., Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the HBO series, The Sopranos.

Ben has taught Master Classes in acting on staff at Roundabout Theatre Company, Walnut Street Theatre, as well at over 100 Universities and Colleges throughout The United States and Canada.
